I took this afocal photograph of the 8-day-16-hour-old Moon on 2011/5/11 using a Canon PowerShot SD980 IS camera, an Orion SteadyPix Deluxe Camera Mount, a 2" 55mm University Optics Plössl eyepiece, and the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg's 17" f/15 classical Cassegrain. The flooded crater Archimedes (83 kilometers) lies to the lower left of the center of the image. To the lower left of Archimedes are the small craters Autolycus and Aristillus. Montes Apenninus and Eratosthenes are located above Archimedes. The small crater Timocharis is to the upper right. Lunar south is to the top.
