I took this afocal photograph of the 8-day-16-hour-old Moon on 2011/5/11using a Canon PowerShot SD980 IS camera, an Orion SteadyPix Deluxe Camera Mount, a 2" 55mm University Optics Plössl eyepiece, and the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg's 17" f/15 classical Cassegrain. The large crater Copernicus (93 kilometers) lies just to the left of the terminator. Crater Eratosthenes and Montes Apenninus (Apennine Mountains) lie to the left and below. Lunar south is to the top.
