The Double Cluster in Perseus, aka NGC 884 and NGC 869, lies in a rich star field of the Milky Way. A favorite object at public star parties, most observers can pick out an orange star among the bright blue stars of the clusters. Studies suggest that the Double Cluster is relatively young and is approximately 7,500 light-years away. Image is a total of 2 hours exposure taken with a Canon 60Da and a Takahashi FSQ106ED with focal reducer (f3.6) on an Astro-Physics 1200 mount taken in Mayhill, NM on the nights of 23, 30 Nov 2016 (8 x 900 sec lights; 18 darks, 128 bias, 128 flats). Processed with PixInsight 1.8.1195 with final adjustments in Photoshop CC.
