My day-job as an optometrist has led me down the road of many hours of study in the field of physiological optics. When I am not examining eyes I love the challenge of night and long-exposure photography. I have always been fascinated by the surrealistic and abstract qualities provided by very long exposures. I have been actively involved in wide angle astrophotography since the age of twelve. My first camera was a Minolta SRT-101 given to me by my grandfather. I love taking high-tech digital photographs of the night sky using the latest techniques that I have learned by many gifted astrophotographers. Despite primarily using a digital SLR, I enjoy nothing more than pulling out that old Minolta camera, loading it up with film and shooting the night sky.
I have been drawn to many of the beautiful landscapes in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Most of my experience has been in night and long exposure photography; I have recently undertaken “daytime” landscape photography. I currently live in Lancaster, PA and love the challenge of finding interesting locations for night photography.
