Amatuer Astronomer since 1968. I use a Celestron C-6 SCT with SGT mount. Also own a Cave Astrola 8 inch Newtonian on an GEM mount, a Vixen VMC110L (4.33 inch) Modified Cassegrain on an alt/az Porta II mount, and a pair of Celestron Nova 7x50 binoculars. There is nothing so soothing, so natural, so engrossing as sitting alone in the dark with nothing but my telescope for a companion while listening to the sounds of the night as the stars wheel above me. I am quite content to be an observer of things astronomical, imprinting the memories on my mind and in my log while leaving astrophotography to others.
