Jake came to Astronomy magazine from the Department of Astronomy at UW-Madison, where he worked as a writer and communications specialist for two years.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in astronomy and physics from The Ohio State University back in 2012, Jake worked in the healthcare industry for a brief time as a project manager. However, his passion for astronomy was always in the back of his mind, so he eventually opted to return to school to study science journalism at UW-Madison. In 2016, he earned his master's degree in journalism and mass communication, specializing in multimedia science communication.
Jake currently lives in Madison with his girlfriend and their puppy. When Jake does not have his nose buried in the news, he can usually be found playing guitar, watching reruns of The Office, playing video games, or just hanging out with his friends.
