Taken by Mike Borman of Evansville, Indiana, USA. Have not had much opportunity to do comet imaging due to lousy weather. Skies finally cleared December 12, 2013, and I managed to image comet Lovejoy (2013R1) using a Canon 60Da DSLR, Tamron 18-270mm zoom lens, on a Vixen Polarie Star Tracker. This is a stack of 5 images, each exposed for 40 seconds at ISO 1600. When I took this, the temperature was 4 degrees F! The comet was fairly close to the globular cluster M13. I have a separate composite image on my website showing the proximity of the comet and the cluster: http://www.mborman.org/lovejoy2013r1_121213.htm
