Comet Lovejoy (2013R1) on December 12, 2013

Taken by Mike Borman of Evansville, Indiana, USA. Have not had much opportunity to do comet imaging due to lousy weather. Skies finally cleared December 12, 2013, and I managed to image comet Lovejoy (2013R1) using a Canon 60Da DSLR, Tamron 18-270mm zoom lens, on a Vixen Polarie Star Tracker. This is a stack of 5 images, each exposed for 40 seconds at ISO 1600. When I took this, the temperature was 4 degrees F! The comet was fairly close to the globular cluster M13. I have a separate composite image on my website showing the proximity of the comet and the cluster:
