At the eyepiece, the swan nebulae ressembles a duck or a swan swimming in a pond. It is an emission nebulae near the galactic core (from our perspective) and probably one of the best objects in the constellation Sagitarius. At the CCD, the shape of this nebulae is much larger than just the swan-shaped bright core.
