I took this tripod-mounted photograph of Comet Hyakutake as it passed through Ursa Major with a Pentax K1000 SLR camera and a Pentax 50mm lens from the grounds of the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg's Naylor Observatory, near Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, on 1996/3/23, two night before the comet's closest approach to the Earth.  Comet Hyakutake sported an extremely long ion tail and was a remarkable sight from a dark site after the Moon set.
