Here's an afocal image of the Lunar X, which is also known as the Purbach or Werner Cross, that I captured from my front yard near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, at 9:15 p.m. EST (2:15 UT) on 2009/3/3.  This X-shaped illumination effect involves various crater rims and ridges between the craters La Caille, Blanchinus, and Purbach.  I used a Sony DSC-F707 digital camera, an Orion SkyQuest XT6 Newtonian Dob, and a 25mm Plössl eyepiece to take the picture.  Lunar east is to the top of the photograph.
