I shot this photograph of Comet Hale-Bopp on 1997/3/9 with a 5-inch f/5 achromatic refractor at prime focus and a Pentax K1000 SLR camera. It was an unguided, one minute exposure on Kodak Royal Gold 1000 film. The site was the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg's Naylor Observatory, near Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.
