NGC 957

NGC 957 is an open star cluster that lies approximately 5,900 light years away in the constellation of Perseus. It is young (i.e., 11 million years old) and contains several massive blue stars.

Telescope: Takahashi TOA-130NFB refractor
Camera: Modified Canon 650D (T4i); ISO 1600
Mount: iOptron CEM60
Guiding: QHY 5L-II on 60mm guide scope
Exposures: 18 @ 5min.
Notes: Images were focused using the camera's live view and a Bahtinov mask. Exposures were captured, aligned and combined in ImagesPlus. The final image was adjusted in Photoshop.
Taken from my backyard observatory in southeastern Minnesota on 9/4/21.
