Messier 72 (M72, NGC 6981 and others) is a Shapley-Sawyer class IX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shapley%E2%80%93Sawyer_Concentration_Class) globular cluster located approximately 54,000 light-years away in Aquarius.

Messier 73 (M73, NGC 6994, Collinder 426 and others) is a grouping of four stars on the left side of the image. Originally thought to be an open cluster, these appear to just be an asterism – stars that just appear to be close together.
