This object is a fine example of the uncondensed type of globular cluster and has a concentration class of 12. It lies at the end of a long dark nebula that has been christened the "dark doodad" (visible in wide angle shots). The bright adjacent star is HD 107947 at magnitude 6.8.
This is a LRGB image taken with a 14.5" RCOS Ritchey Chretien working at F9 and a SBIG STXL6303E CCD camera. Almost 8 hours of total imaging time.
