NGC 7039 is a class III 2 p open cluster consisting of around 100 stars approximately 3,100 light-years away in Cygnus. This is the cluster of stars just to the right (west) of the bottom center of the image.
NGC 7048 is a planetary nebula approximately 5,200 light-years away. It can be found at about 10 o’clock in the image.
The center is dominated by several dark nebulae including LDN 956, 959 and 963.
Luminance – 12x600s – 120 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
240 minutes total exposure – 4 hours
