vdB 81 (* 13 Mon, HIP 31216 and many others) is the blue reflection nebula and bright star. The star is located approximately 2681 light-years away in Monoceros.

IC 448 (Ced 79, DG 107, LBN 931 and others) is a faint HII region that fills the background of this image.

Luminance – 25x600s – 250 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

370 minutes total exposure – 6 hours 10 minutes

Imaged January 10th, 11th and 12, 2021 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
