Sharpless 201 (IC 1871, LBN 675 and others) is an emission nebula located approximately 10,000 light-years away in Cassiopeia. This nebula is often overlooked or imaged along with the more popular Soul Nebula (IC 1848). This one is on the opposite side of my previously posted Sh2-189 (https://www.flickr.com/photos/dcrowson/48201263231).
Luminance – 28x600s – 280 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
400 minutes total exposure – 6 hours 40 minutes
Imaged in November and December, 2018 and September and November, 2019 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
