The Elephant Trunk Nebula is located in the larger nebula IC 1396 in the constellation of Cepheus. It has its own designation: vdB 142.
Taken with a 10 in. Teleskop-Service f/5 Newtonian. This is a hybrid image consisting of 24 exposures of 7.5 min. using an ST-8300 with 12nm Astronomik Ha filter and 20 exposures of 5 min. using a modified Canon 650D (ISO 3200).
