IC 1871 - a great rift in the Soul Nebula

IC 1871 is part of the much larger Soul Nebula (IC 1848), containing both emission and dark nebulae. It lays approximately 6,500 light years away in Cassiopeia.

This is a hybrid image incorporating a luminance layer composed of an Ha+Rchannel image and RGB layer.

Scope: TS-Optics 10in. f/5 Newtonian
Mount: iOptron CEM60
Guiding: QHY5L II-M on 60mm guide scope
Cameras: for Ha: ST-8300 with Astronomik 12nm Ha filter; for color: modified Canon 650D, ISO 3200
Exposures: Ha:30 @ 7.5 min.; RGB: 30 @ 5 min.
