M16 (NGC 6611, Sharpless 49, RCW 165, Gum 83 and others) is an open cluster embedded in nebulosity located approximately 7,000 light-years away in Serpens.

Imaged over 20 nights in March, April, May and June, 2016 from Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
