The Orion Nebula (M42)

on Tuesday, November 20, 2012

One of the brightest nebulae in the sky very well visible by naked eye located in the constellation of Orion just under the three bright stars forming the Orion's Belt. The nebula is a huge nursery of young forming stars and it is relatively very close to us, about 1300 light years. Next shot I'll try to catch in the same field of view the other well known nebula "Horse Head Nebula", just left out in the low left side of the picture.
