The Veil Nebula or NGC 6992, is the remnant of a supernova explosion about 5000 years ago. The magnitude of the supernova was around -8 and spent several weeks in heaven. It is part of the Cygnus Loop that make up nebulae of the same origin as NGC6960 and the Veil West, NGC 6979 and 6995.
