Arp 84

Arp 84 consists of NGC 5395 (UGC 8900, VV 48a and others), the Seyfert 2 galaxy at the center and NGC 5394 (UGC 8898, VV 48b and others), the interacting galaxy above it. Both galaxies are approximately 176 million light-years away in Canes Venatici.

Luminance – 25x600s – 250 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

370 minutes total exposure – 6 hours 10 minutes

Imaged May 28th, 29th and June 2nd, 2016 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
