NGC 1532 is a large, edge-on spiral galaxy located approximately 50 million light-years away in Eridanus. Interaction with dwarf galaxy NGC 1531 above it is causing the distorted shape. At -32 degrees declination, this is another object that is very low in the northern hemisphere that I had the opportunity to capture from New Mexico.

Luminance – 12x600s – 120 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

Imaged February 3rd and 5th, 2016 from Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at f/6.7 603mm.
