What a wonderful time I had in Cleveland a week ago at the WVIZ-PBS ideastream Science and Mathematics Think-in. Not only was I asked to give a talk, which was filmed for television (will let you know about watching it), but I was able to make two new friends who are very cool.

Craig Bartlett is the creator and producer of Ready Jet Go!, the PBS kids’s program that teaches young children all about science. He is also the creator and producer of the Nickelodeon show Hey Arnold!, worked on animations for Pee Wee’s Playhouse, and is the force behind Dinosaur Train. A really marvelous and entertaining fellow.

And I was delighted to finally meet and hang out with Amy Mainzer of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab, a Near-Earth Asteroid scientist whose work I have known for a long long time. She is the driving force behind NEOWISE, among other projects. And she is also the star and science advisor for Ready Jet Go!

What a fun few days. If you have kids, you should absolutely make sure they are watching Ready Jet Go! — it is a great show!!
