About Odenwald

Dr. Sten Odenwald (that's me!) is a professional astronomer and frequent contributing writer to Astronomy magazine. His latest article was published in the April 2013 issue and titled 'String Theory'. He works at the NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center in Maryland, and is the Director of STEM Resource Development at the National Institute iof Aerospace. For the last 20 years, my website 'The Astronomy Cafe' (http://www.astronomycafe.net) has provided visitors with a wide variety of topics in astronomy from an extensive FAQ collection, to essays on a career in astronomy, and even oddball topics like Ghost Lights and the science fiction history of the discovery of hyperspzce and FTL travel. I am also the author of SpaceMath@NASA (http://spacemath.gsfc.nasa.gov) which provides the behind the scenes view of how mathematics is used in astronomy.
