Transit of Venus in Hydrogen Alpha

Telescope: Celestron Super C8 Plus with Fork Mount. and Byers drive. Camera: Canon EOS 20D DSLR. Exposures: ISO 1600, 1/1250 exposure. Other equipment: One angstrom hydrogen alpha filter at f/40.

The transit of Venus at roughly mid transit, photographed in hydrogen alpha. It shows prominences around the solar limb, the hydrogen alpha network on the solar disk, plages around sunspot groups, filaments, near the plages, which are prominences in silhouette against the solar disk, and the silhouette of Venus.
