Hanging coffins in Qutang Gorge

In Qutang Gorge, one of China’s “Three Gorges,” we observed several rare items, “hanging coffins.” These burials placed high in cliff walls are about 2,000 years old and were meant to elevate the dead to be closer to heaven.
