Growing Activity

on Friday, June 4, 2021
I imaged the sun for 150 days in a row, from 25th December 2020 to 23rd May 2021. This image shows a side-by-side comparison among all the sunspot regions that had appeared in the three phases (each of 50 days) during this period. The left image shows the sunspot regions that appeared between 25th December 2020 to 12th February 2021, the centre image showing sunspots between 13th February 2021 to 3rd April 2021 and the image on the right captures the sunspots between 4th April 2021 to 23rd May 2021.

The growing number of sunspots in the images from left to right clearly shows the growing activity in the solar disk and this an indication that the Solar Cycle 25 is gaining momentum.
