in the Moon’s shadow - Valcheta, Argentina

on Monday, January 4, 2021
On December 14 we had the great opportunity to observe the last total solar eclipse in Argentine territory for a good time. Complementing it with the one observed in 2019, this time, also total, it was visible in part of the southern border of the province of Buenos Aires, Rio Negro, Neuquén, and Chile, totally and partially in the whole Country with its degrees of "partiality". The eclipse passed from the Argentine side, in inhospitable areas, with little infrastructure of services, (except for the tourist towns towards the Atlantic coast or towards the west of Patagonia). Towards the ecumene zone, the hotel capacity is not as massive as that of the province of Buenos Aires (if we take the hotel capacity of Mar del Plata as an example) so reservations have been made well in advance.
