Camera:Canon 20D
Location: Portland, OR, USA
Exposures: Partial phases:1/320 second at ISO 800; Totality 3 seconds at ISO 800

The circular outline of Earth's shadow in space, the umbra, can be clearly seen in this sequence of 3 images from the total lunar eclipse of 2014-10-08. The moon at maximum totality glows a coppery orange from sunlight refracted through Earth's atmosphere.
