The Hyginus Rille area of a 22-day-old Moon. The rille (German for ‘groove’) is 2400’ feet deep and about 140 mi long. The crater in the center of the rille is 6 miles wide, so the smallest features in this image are about 500 yards across. Images were captured from Anza, CA with a 10-inch SCT at f/22 using an Imaging Source video camera.
