Here's a 5-second-long shot of Mars and Regulus that I captured on the night of 2010/6/8 with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel DSLR camera and 80-200mm Canon EF-S zoom lens. Mars, the Red Planet, and Regulus, the Little King, were a bit more than a degree apart at the time and were shining at magnitudes 1.2 and 1.3 respectively. Mars is flanked by Rho Leonis to the east and Eta Leonis to the west.
