On the afternoon of 2009/12/18, I was fortunate enough to photograph a very prominent display of the 22 degree solar halo, parhelia (sundogs), and the upper tangent arc with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel DSLR and the stock 18-55mm Canon EFS zoom lens.  The circumzenithal arc, which is situated above the upper tangent arc, was visible as well but is not seen in this shot.  For more on these atmospheric phenomena, see http://www.atoptics.co.uk/halo/common.htm
