Sharpless 263 (LBN 867) is a HII region located approximately 1,500 light-years away in Orion.

Ced 44 (LBN 866, DG 53 and others) is the blue reflection nebula.

Barnard 223 is the dark nebula below Ced 44.

See the annotated image for locations of these and many more objects.

Luminance – 2x600s – 20 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 2x600s – 20 minutes each – binned 1x1

80 minutes total exposure – 1 hour 20 minutes

Imaged January 6th, 2022 at the Heaven’s Mirror Observatory (Australia) with a FLI ML16200 on an Officina Stellare RH200 .

Just two exposures through each filter without dithering along with several satellite trails in each made this a challenging process.
