vdB 109

vdB 109 (* 24 Sco, HIP 81724 and many others) is the gold reflection nebula and bright star. The star is located approximately 384.5 light-years away in Scorpius.

The area around vdB 109 is dominated by LBN 5 (a HII region) and LDN 33 (a dark nebula).

Luminance – 12x600s – 120 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

240 minutes total exposure – 4 hours

Imaged April 24th and 25th, 2022 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
