Barnard 58

Barnard 58 (Sa 23) is a dark nebula located at -40 Dec in Scorpius. It is located approximately five degrees below the bright star Shaula (HIP 85927).

VDBH 217, located approximately 5,620 light-years away, is the open cluster at the bottom left.

Luminance – 12x600s – 120 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

240 minutes total exposure – 4 hours

Imaged on April 26th and 27th, 2022 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at f/6.7 603mm.
