NGC 1931, sometimes called “the fly”, is a relatively young open cluster surrounded by a field of nebulosity located in the constellation Auriga. The open cluster is approximately 7000 light-years distant. The image was taken through a Astrodon luminance filter (Gen2) with a QSI683wsg CCD camera and a Takahashi CCA250 f/5 astrograph on a Paramount ME on the nights of 23, 30 November and 5 December 2016 in Mayhill, NM (30 x 1200 sec Lights @ -20 degrees C.; 18 darks; 128 bias, 128 flats). Processed in PixInsight 1.8.5.1353 Ripley (x64).
