This is vdB-141, the so-called Ghost Nebula in Cepheus. The bright reflection nebula is highlighted in this image, although the field is actually full of dim gray dust. The area to the right with the embedded reddish star is thought to be a star-forming region. This image was taken with a 12.5" PlaneWave CDK telescope and a Quantum-Scientific QSI-640ws camera at f/5.2. Total capture time was about 14 hours over 3 nights stretching from 10/31/2013 (Halloween!) to 6/24/2014 from a rural site near Anza, CA.
