This 90-second-long, OIII-filtered image of the bright emission nebula M17 (also known as the Swan, Omega, Checkmark, Horseshoe, or Lobster Nebula) in Sagittarius, was captured remotely on 2010/7/21 using the Bradford Robotic Telescope's 14" f/11 Celestron C14 SCT and FLI MicroLine camera located on Tenerife in the Canary Islands. A Celestron focal reducer yielding an effective focal length of 1877mm at f/5.3 was employed. The image was rotated 180 degrees so that south is up and the "swan" is easier to see.
