NGC 678 + 680

NGC 678 (UGC 1280, PGC 6690 and others) is the galaxy with the prominent bar on the right. This one is located approximately 91 million light-years away in Aries.

NGC 680 (UGC 1286, PGC 6719 and others) is the elliptical galaxy located approximately 122 million light-years away.

Luminance – 34x600s – 340 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

460 minutes total exposure – 7 hours 40 minutes

Imaged over five nights in September, 2022 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
