Arp 55

Arp 55 (UGC 4881, V 155 and others) is a group of galaxies located approximately 555 million light-years away in Lynx. Part of Arp’s ‘Spirals with small, high surface brightness companions on their arms’ class, these are also collectively known as the Grasshopper.

Luminance – 24x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

360 minutes total exposure – 6 hours

Imaged March 1st, 2nd, 21st, 22nd and 23rd, 2022 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
