Supernova 2014J, discovered in M82 on January 21, 2014, brightened to a peak magnitude of 10.5 about the time of this image. I combined 27 exposures of 8 minutes each taken on the night of January 30 through the morning of January 31, with a Canon 6D DSLR through an Astro-Physics Riccardi Honders 12" Astrograph.
