The April issue of Astronomy Magazine had a nice article about the future merger of M31 with our Milky Way galaxy.  This is a pair of galaxies that is a bit further along in the process.  NGC 4567 and 4568 are members of the Virgo Cluster about 60M light-years away.   The image was taken on 4/13 and 5/11/2013 from a dark-sky site near Anza, CA.  A 12.5" PlaneWave telescope was used with a QSI 640wx camera working at f/8.  Integration time was 170:70:60:50 minutes LRGB (5.8 hours total).
