Bode's Galaxy (M81) and the Cigar Galaxy (M82)

M-81 also knows Bode's Galaxy because discovered by Johann Elert Bode in 1774 is a spiral galaxy about 12 million L-Y away in the constallation of Ursa Major.

Messier 81 is the largest Galaxy in the M-81 group of 34 Galaxies, the closest group of the local group.

Description: Taken at St-Léonard(Québec) 5 javier 2011.

Orion refractor 110mm ed  on Televue E.Q. mount  RSM-2000.

Canon XS(1000D) at prime focus ISO 800 (no filter used)

20 x 5 min Total 100 minutes. (manually guiding)
