The Andromeda Galaxy (M31)

M31, one of the nearest galaxies, lies 2.5 million light-years from us and is moving towards us at 100km/sec. Eventually our galaxy will collide with Andromeda.

Taken on 9-10-10, with TeleVue NP101is, Orion star shoot pro V2 camera, G-11 Gemini mount, auto guided with St-4 and AT1010. 20 images x 8 minutes. Acquired with Maxim DL and processed with AIP4win2.3, PS7, Pixinsight LE.
