This 60-second long image of the irregular galaxy M82 (the Cigar Galaxy) in Ursa Major was captured remotely using the Bradford Robotic Telescope's 14" f/11 Celestron C14 SCT and FLI MicroLine camera located on Tenerife in the Canary Islands.  A Celestron focal reducer yielding an effective focal length of 1877mm at f/5.3 was employed.  North is up and east is to the left in the image.  Because of its high rate of star formation, M82 is termed a starburst galaxy.  For additional information on M82, see http://www.seds.org/messier/m/m082.html
