Comet Halley April 9, 1986

On April 9, 1986 Comet: Halley made its closest approach to the Earth.
I photographed the famous comet using the wide angle "piggyback " method and was lucky enough to capture a 0 magnitude meteor in the frame. This photograph was made using a simple 50mm f1.4 lens on a German equatorial mount.

This image won Astronomy Magazine's "Best Astrophoto Award" in 1986
