I have the distinct pleasure of welcoming a new contributing editor to Astronomy magazine, Sheldon Reynolds, amateur astronomer, astroimager, and entertainer. Those who know the music business may be aware of Sheldon’s career as a member of the Commodores, as lead guitarist and vocalist for Earth, Wind & Fire, and as a writer and producer of many other musical ventures. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sheldon followed his 14-year career in EWF with several years of involvement managing Experience Hendrix, the company overseeing the estate and musical legacy of guitar legend Jimi Hendrix.
Sheldon has a great passion for music, obviously, but also has a passion for the stars and for observing and imaging the sky. Over the coming months, he will spend some time promoting astronomy on the magazine’s website, and we will offer some fun contests and activities on the site involving some of Sheldon’s music.
I invite you to welcome Sheldon as a new contributor to
Astronomy, and I look forward to lots of fun in the future involving Sheldon and the readers.
